Draft, not yet checked by meA joint session with Varsha Apte of IIT Bombay at the first ACM India Grad Cohort, a two-day workshop for women graduate students in computing, held at IIT Bombay in July 2018. Alongside sessions on choosing a research topic, technical writing, time management, and building confidence, we put two kinds of communication next to each other: presenting technical work clearly to an audience, and the interpersonal communication that everyday professional life depends on.
