Joy of Computing
On the joy of computing, for women graduate students at ACM-W India Grad Cohort 2026
An introductory mentoring talk, for graduate students.
Abstract
Draft, not yet checked by meAn invited talk at the seventh ACM-W India Grad Cohort, held at IIT Madras on 20 and 21 July 2026. The Grad Cohort is a mentoring workshop for women doing master's and doctoral research in computing, with keynotes, mentoring sessions, and panel discussions on navigating research careers. The programme lists my talk under the tentative title 'Joy of computing', and it is my take on the joy of the subject itself, alongside the career advice that fills much of the workshop.
